Two Years

I miss it everyday
In every possible way
Two years well spent
How fast they came and went!

I miss Them all the time
Even if they gave me Mayo with lime!
I wish I was still there
Then life would not so err

I miss how I used to feel
The spirit was oh so real!
A white shirt and an ugly tie
My best friend by my side

I miss the miracles I saw
How I could speak with no flaw
And life was so blissful and right
Now I have to use all my might

I miss it everyday
In every possible way
Two years well spent
Others don’t know how much they meant

  2. So in church, as a Teacher, i asked the young men's president why serving a mission was so important. And he told me something that stuck with me to this day. He said:

"Imagine this. There is this really Big Mountain. and you want to get to the top of it. so you begin to climb. but you wanna get there fast, so you leave all your stuff. Now, its hard to climb some of the way cause you left some stuff, but you Finally get to the top, and it is AMAZING. beyond comprehension Amazing. So you go back down, grab all your stuff, and head back. This time you have your friends with you and all your stuff. Getting to the top is taking longer than expected. Others are tired and don't wanna go on, food is running out, and the tools that were meant to help you are now working against you. But you still remember how AMAZING it was up there, and you want them to see it for them selves, so you continue to move forward.

Serving your mission is like your first climb of the mountain. no bags, no nothing, just you and the gospel. along the way, its very hard. If you serve a faithful mission, you will see the top of the mountain. The highest point of your spiritual journey. The blessings, the conversions, the miracles. Then you are sent back home, back to the bottom of the mountain, back to the real world. Gotta take your bags this time (Jobs, bills, taxes, work, money). And now your friend is coming with you (wife, kids, family)....but you want all of this to see what you have seen, to feel what you have felt, so you head back up the mountain. It will be harder, but as long as you have that spiritual climax, you will continue to push forward until you reach the top again.

Your mission is the time you need to get to where you need within the gospel. It will help you in your life and in your future family. But only if you serve faithfully."
